Elena to Damon: It’s about us. It’s not just that we’re bad for each other. It’s just that when we’re together, we do bad things for each other. And I can’t live like that.
Elena: Nothing has changed. We’re still bad for each other and we are still broken up. Last night was a mistake.
Damon: Maybe we should keep making mistakes? Big ones..
Damon: Katherine didn’t do this. I did! I thought you broke my heart, so I ripped open Aaron’s neck: THAT is how much control you have over me.
Elena: And I’m still here! That’s how much control you have over me!
Damon: Listen to us! This is toxic! We are in a toxic relationship, Elena! I just killed your friend and you find someone else to blame!
Elena: You want me to blame you? Easy! Done! You screwed up, Damon. Again!
Damon: Thank you!
Elena: You put me in a position where I have to defend you, again, where I have to bend my morals, again. Where I have to go against every single thing that I believe in, again, because I love you!
Damon: Then stop loving me!
Elena: I can’t!
Damon: Well, that’s the problem! We don’t work!
Elena: I know..
Damon: Then we agree? This has to end.
Elena: It just did. It’s over.. We’re over.
(They stand there and stare into each other’s eyes for a second, until Damon moves in to kiss her. They start ripping each other’s clothes off and head over to the bed)
Gossip Girl: The thing about new beginnings is that they require something else to end…
Some endings take a long time to reveal themselves, but when they do they’re almost too easy to ignore…
Some beginnings start so quietly you don’t even notice they’re happening. But most endings come when you least expect them. And what they portend is darker than you’ve ever imagined.
And not all beginnings are cause for celebration.
El amor es muy bonito mientras la cosas van bien pero cuando se tuercen, ya no es tan fácil.
Chuck to Blair: I chased you for long enough. Now it’s time you chased me.
Gossip Girl: Just like the seasons, people have the ability to change. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does it’s almost always right.
I think it was already over. It just took us this long to realize. To get used to the idea.#GossipGirl
Blair: Three words. Eight letters. Say it, and I’m yours.
Gossip Girl: Ain’t karma a bitch? We know Blair Waldorf is.
Chuck: I’d like to propose a toast. My father is someone who goes after what he wants. And Lily van der Woodsen was no exception. In typical Bass-man fashion his pursuit was direct and at times not exactly subtle. One thing I learned from my father’s courtship of Lily is the importance of perseverance. That in the face of true love you don’t just give up, even if the object of your affection is begging you to. One thing I learned from Lily is the importance of forgiveness. She gave my father the gift of a second chance and, in kind, I watched him become someone actually worthy of that gift. And one day I hope I’ll be lucky enough to find someone who will do the same for me. To the happy couple!
